Alex Khvatov: What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?
David Knox: 6’0, 305 and 5.1.
Alex Khvatov: How are you currently preparing for the 2020 season with no offseason training?
David Knox: Currently preparing through my own mix of speed, conditioning, and defensive line drills.
Alex Khvatov: Besides football, what other sports did you play in high school?
David Knox: Besides football in high school, I participated in track and field as well as wrestling during my time.
Alex Khvatov: What positions did you play in high school?
David Knox: In high school, I have played everything from running back in certain packages on offense and everything across the defensive line.
Alex Khvatov: Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?
David Knox: SE Missouri, Western Illinois, Murray State and pretty much all of the schools in the MIAA and a few from GLVC.
Alex Khvatov: How did you wind up at Lindenwood?
David Knox: I came to Lindenwood due to the feel I got from the team and the environment. As well as wanting to be around my sick grandmother.
Alex Khvatov: Describe your overall career.
David Knox: I am proud when I came in as a true freshman played and gained a ton of experience. By the time my junior year came around, I felt like I really came into my own. I had a minor setback that cut the year short. But now I am back and better than before.
Alex Khvatov: What can we expect from Lindenwood this upcoming season?
David Knox: Nothing less than another conference championship and our eyes are set on the national championship.
Alex Khvatov: What are your strengths?
David Knox: My strengths are my power, explosiveness, quickness, and motor. I bring a sense of intensity and relentlessness to the interior. I maintain leverage and demand double teams.
Alex Khvatov: What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?
David Knox: Just increasing my ability to shed blocks beyond using my power.
Alex Khvatov: What is the highlight of your career up to this point?
David Knox: I wasn’t really an on the field moment. I will never forget the day my sick grandmother was finally able to see me play.
Alex Khvatov: What is the biggest lesson that you have taken away from your coaching staff?
David Knox: The biggest lesson is to really focus in on the family and brotherhood aspect of the game.
Alex Khvatov: What is your favorite NFL team?
David Knox: The Falcons.
Alex Khvatov: Who is your favorite NFL player?
David Knox: Favorite player is Aaron Donald who changed the game for interior guys.
Alex Khvatov: What players on your team should we keep an eye on for this upcoming season?
David Knox: There are so many. I love all of my guys, but here are a few to watch. Lloyd Lockett, Drew Seers, and Arsante Conners.
Alex Khvatov: Who is the best player that you have faced on an opposing team?
David Knox: I faced a lot of good players, but I remember Ezekiel Elliot in high school. Josh Caldwell in college was a tough running back.
Alex Khvatov: What is the most important trait for a DL?
David Knox: The most important trait is your hunger. How much work are you going to put in to your craft? How hungry are you for success? A DL that isn’t starved to be great is doing it all wrong.
Alex Khvatov: What do you enjoy most about football?
David Knox: I enjoy the fact that in football, I can throw my body into someone else’s for 60 minutes all out. All of the coordinated controlled aggression with my brothers.
Alex Khvatov: What are your hobbies?
David Knox: I enjoy movies of course, but I really am into the world of anime. It teaches good life lessons. Beyond that, I just love getting out being active with friends and loved ones.
Alex Khvatov: What do you want to do with your life after your football career is over?
David Knox: After football, I honestly wouldn’t mind venturing into coaching. I would love to be in my 40’s coaching the defensive line. It’s a passion of mine.
