-gets blown off the line by offensive guards

-wasn’t winning one on one battles on tape

-flashes in run defense when he brings the lumber

Mustafa Johnson, DT, Colorado

-Juco Transfer

-gets blown off the line of scrimmage in the run game

-average awareness as a run stopper

-saw him play a lot of the five-tech at CU

-good pass rusher

-saw him play the nose, I think he is better as a 3-4 DE

-able to get penetration in the run game at times

-more quick than powerful

LaBryan Ray, DT, Alabama

-gets beat in the run game

-needs a lower pad level

-DE in Alabama’s system

-does have some upper body strength

-saw him get pancaked pretty bad on a run play

-pushes the pocket with force as a pass rusher

-able to get his hands up to block balls

-very quick first step for a nose tackle

-holds the point of attack in the run game

-very quick first step for an interior guy

-sometimes rushed from the defensive end position, but is mostly a two-gap DT

-I like his pad level

-good hand use as a pass rusher

-needs to be more physical in the run game

-needs to get off blocks better

-loses battles in the run game

-doesn’t get much pressure as a pass rusher

-good see to do in the run game

-can help with tackling in the run game
