Scouting Blog – QB Trevor Lawrence (Clemson)

Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

Trevor Lawrence performed well against Miami, FL in his primetime showdown. He had plenty of zip on his passes. I also like his ball placement at this point in his career. It is very sharp. I like his ability to throw on the run as well. The thing that stands out about Trevor Lawrence in his third-year is how he commands the offensive tempo for the Tigers offense. He looks very mature and is a leader on the field. Lawrence also has the arm strength to throw the deep ball. He adds to his arm talent with good accuracy. On the day against Miami, he was 29 of 41 for 292 yards and three touchdown passes with no interceptions.

Overall, Lawrence is the consensus #1 pick. He has all the physical tools, the accomplishments and the personality that teams want. I would say he could take the rest of the year off and get ready for the draft, but he is also on track to win a National Championship. I appreciate his commitment to winning, and I fully expect him to be the first pick in the draft for that one lucky team.
