Scouting Blog – CB Jaycee Horn (South Carolina)

Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina

Jaycee Horn, the son of longtime NFL receiver Joe Horn, showed up big in the upset against the Auburn Tigers. He had two interceptions and a tipped pass that led to an interception. He likes to play off-man coverage and be a high-risk; high-reward player. He was asked to cover Seth Williams, the Tigers #1 receiver, because future NFL corner Israel Mukuama was out. He frustrated Seth Williams to the point that Bo Nix and Seth Williams got into an argument. If there is something to be concerned about in Horn’s game, it is that he is an average open-field tackler. I don’t think his tackling is a concern though. The junior has NFL size standing in at 6’1 which is what NFL teams are looking for in an outside corner. This is an under-the-radar player who is emerging in 2020 and had a hand in the upset against Auburn.
