Liam Eichenberg, LT, Notre Dame
Liam Eichenberg deserves some of the credit for Notre Dame’s success protecting Ian Book’s blind side. He has been able to protect a pocket quarterback in Ian Book. What I like about Eichenberg is his pass blocking. He has good feet and his technique has improved a lot as the season has gone on. I think he is going to be a good blind side protector because of his hand fighting. As a run blocker, he has some areas to work on, but it’s not terrible. He moves very well as a run blocker in space. He does need to clean up the lunges and he needs to be more aggressive as a run blocker. Overall, I think he is a top 10 pick in the NFL draft and he is an NFL left tackle with some work to do on his run blocking.
