2021 NFL Draft – Overrated Prospects

We look at the most overrated players at each position.  Here is why Florida Gators Kyle Trask is the most overrated QB prospect in the entire draft.

QB Kyle Trask (Florida)

Trask had a terrific senior year for the Gators. However, he struggles with his decision-making, has an average arm, lacks mobility, displays average ball placement and is late with a lot of his throws.

RB Jermar Jefferson (Oregon State)

Productive RB for the Beavers, but has average speed and athleticism. He can’t create on his own. Unable to make defenders miss or break tackles. Goes down way too easily.

WR Kadarius Toney (Florida)

Great athlete with terrific speed who can help you as a return specialist. However, he is an average route runner who battled injuries in the past. I am also skeptical of players who breakout as seniors. Too rich for me as a first round prospect.

TE Tre’ McKitty (Georgia)

Good physical tools and a large catching radius, but very average production with the Seminoles and the Bulldogs. Not buying the hype around his upside.

OT James Hudson (Cincinnati)

Former DL, transfer from Michigan. One-year starter for the Bearcats in 2020. Struggles with his hand placement, average awareness and susceptible to inside moves. Should move inside at the next level.

OG Deonte Brown (Alabama)

Struggles against quicker DL in pass sets and displays very average balance. Below average lateral quickness and needs to keep his weight in check.

C Landon Dickerson (Alabama)

Another Alabama OL on this list. Dickerson has major durability concerns that go back to his Florida State days. He is also an average pass protector who struggles to keep his pad level down due to his size.

DE Jayson Oweh (Penn State)

Athletic freak who doesn’t play up to his size, speed and his physical tools. He had zero sacks in 2020. Inconsistent first step, lacks awareness, below average hand usage and lack of pass rush moves. Not a top 100 prospect.

DT Osa Odighizuwa (UCLA)

He is a tweener without a true position at the next level. He struggles holding his ground at the POA and has a tough time disengaging from blocks. He is a below average run defender.

LB Jabril Cox (LSU)

Excels in pass coverage and displays good speed. Unfortunately, I see a below average run defender. Misses too many tackles in the open field, lacks physicality and doesn’t embrace contact.

CB Caleb Farley (Virginia Tech)

His size and speed gets people excited, but he is still raw for the position. Average COD skills, durability concerns, lacks instincts and physicality.

S Ar’Darius Washington (TCU)

I always root for players like Washington. He is an instinctive safety with good range and ball skills. His lack of size (5’8, 176 pounds) and very average speed doesn’t bode well for his NFL future.
