2022 NFL Draft Quarterbacks

Tanner Morgan, QB, Minnesota

-6’2, 215lbs

-three-years of production

-best year was as a sophomore in 2019/2nd team all-Big 10 in 2019

-three-star recruit out of high school

-ball placement can be really hot and cold

-isn’t accurate on the deep ball

-holds the ball too long in the pocket, ran a lot of the offense out of the shotgun

-can be very precise on the 10-yard slant. That is his bread and butter

-receivers helped his production and is still nothing special

Brock Purdy, QB, Iowa State

-6’1, 212lbs

-three years of production

-team has been successful under Matt Campbell and himself

-3-star recruit out of high school

-has a quick release and a compact throwing motion

-moves well, but I would still call him a pocket QB

-reads the field very well for a college QB

-has very good accuracy and ball placement

-has good pocket awareness for a college QB

Chase Garbers, QB, California

-three years of production

-6’2, 225lbs

-has really cut down on interceptions since his freshman year

– 4-star recruit out of high school

-has a very quick release and a very compact throwing motion

-has great accuracy on the deep ball

-gets the ball out quickly on the screen passes

-really has great ball placement in the red zone

-good pocket mobility and awareness

Myles Brennan, QB, LSU

-6’4, 210lbs

-four years of production already

-4-star recruit out of high school

-very good footwork

-holds the ball too long in the pocket

-will complete passes into tight windows. Likes high percentage throws

-is very conservative in the Tigers offense and defenses take advantage of it

-doesn’t like to tuck it in and run it

-reminds me of Brad Kaaya of the Detroit Lions and Miami Hurricanes

Adrian Martinez, QB, Nebraska

-6’2, 220lbs

-decent stats over three years from freshman year

-has a high interception total for his career

-4-star recruit out of high school

-mobile and running quarterback. Fits the dual-threat category

-has that gunslinger mentality

-I like his vision when he runs the ball

-Nebraska runs a conservative/running offense with him

-has good speed as a runner

Malik Cunningham, QB, Louisville

-6’1, 200lbs

-had his best year in 2019 as a sophomore

-threw 42 touchdowns in 2019 & 2020

-3-star recruit out of high school

-very good pocket mobility

-can stretch the field with the deep ball

-isn’t always accurate on the deep ball

-is a guy who can throw on the run

-relies on his legs more than his arm

Kyle Vantrease, QB, Buffalo

-6’3, 220lbs

-really grew his redshirt sophomore year

-Not a lot of touchdowns thrown in his career all things considered

-has a pretty good deep ball

-sometimes I don’t know where he is going with the ball, shows questionable decision-making

-can throw a bit on the run

-takes a two step drop, but I think delivers the ball on-time

-can fit passes into tight windows

Sean Clifford, QB, Penn State

-6’2, 217lbs

-effective since his sophomore year

-throws a lot of touchdowns but also throws a lot of interceptions

-All-Big 10 honorable mention in 2019

-holds the ball too long and has to scramble out of the pocket when it’s too late

-doesn’t have great footspeed. Is definitely a pocket QB

-has questionable decision-making skills

-does run in Penn State’s offense, but I don’t think he is a great runner

-doesn’t have great accuracy in the red zone. I see him as a QB with average accuracy.

Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati

-6’4, 215lbs

-great stats from 2018-2020

-over 2,000 yards passing since his freshman year

-3-star recruit out of high school

-good pocket awareness

-has a good arm

-isn’t the most accurate passer

-is a capable runner, but doesn’t have blazing speed

-has the toughness to execute a QB sneak

-has a two-step drop and has a below average internal clock

Sam Hartman, QB, Wake Forest

-only a 50+% completion percentage

-6’1, 215lbs

-coming off three straight losses

-three-star recruit out of high school

-holds the ball too long in the pocket

-has a good arm and some zip on his passes

-I have concerns about his height and his ability to see over the defense

-has decent accuracy and ball placement

-has an aggressive style and doesn’t bode well for him completing passes
