A transfer from South Carolina, Jammie Robinson has stepped up tremendously as a ROVER safety in the Florida State defense. His coverage skills are generally pretty good, as are his tackling and instincts. While he is slightly undersized, Robinson offers some solid instinctual ability in both deep coverage and underneath. He’s a willing run defender, and while he has some parts of his game left to iron out, he looks the part of a more-than-capable ROVER who might be a starter by year two.

Jammie Robinson scouting notes
Pros:
- Good speed. He moves very well and is a solid athlete.
- Solid lateral quickness.
- Good hip rotation. Changes direction well.
- Relatively good defender in space. Doesn’t typically overreact to anything the ball carrier throws at him.
- Takes good pursuit angles typically. A good defender who closes pretty well.
- Stays in the hip pocket well in man coverage.
- Pretty quick to recognize concepts and react appropriately.
- Shows decent press ability. He isn’t very physical.
Cons:
- Doesn’t have a lot of upper body strength.
- Decent tackler. Wraps up decently well but lacks some of the upper body strength to put the ball carrier down right there.
- He just plays too physically in man coverage.
- Doesn’t make the smartest decisions consistently in deep coverage – much to aggressive and willing to come upfield than cover the deep ball.
