Penn State offensive tackle Olu Fashanu has decided not to declare for the 2023 NFL Draft, opting to return to school.
The Penn State Nittany Lions program received good news this offseason – as breakout star offensive tackle Olu Fashanu has decided to return to school, per John F. Murphy of Next Level Scouting. This decision comes despite his first-round projections from most NFL Draft analysts. Fashanu is presumed to be the first offensive tackle taken off of the board in next year’s draft.
Penn State is about to lose several valuable contributors this year to the NFL, and will be looking to debut their redshirt freshman five-star quarterback, Drew Allar, next season. Retaining Fashanu’s services is critical to protecting Allar as he settles into his starting role.
Draft Blitz will be monitoring Fashanu heavily next year, as his potential could place him as high as the Top 10 in the 2024 NFL Draft.
