Mason King: 6’4, 219 and 4.79.
Alex Khvatov: Where are you currently training for the NFL Draft?
Mason King: ProFormance in Louisville, KY.
Alex Khvatov: Describe your overall experience at the Tropical Bowl in Daytona Beach, FL.
Mason King: I thought the environment was very fun. I enjoyed meeting new players throughout the weekend. Another great thing was meeting with NFL team scouts and representatives.
Alex Khvatov: What was the biggest thing that you took away from that all-star weekend?
Mason King: I enjoyed a whole new team with a bunch of new faces. I thought it was so cool to play with new teammates and have fun punting footballs.
Alex Khvatov: Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?
Mason King: None. I walked on to Louisville.
Alex Khvatov: Why did you choose Louisville?
Mason King: Louisville is my hometown and I loved the environment. I also wanted to play for a big-time school in the ACC.
Alex Khvatov: What are your strengths?
Mason King: My size, athleticism and being able to pay attention to details. I feel I am a great leader and do well in team settings.
Alex Khvatov: What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?
Mason King: Directional punting.
Alex Khvatov: Tell us about your overall career.
Mason King: My time at UofL was great. Each year brought its ups and downs, but it was a pleasure playing for my various coaches. I walked on in 2015 and earned a scholarship after the 2016 season. A 2-10 season in 2018 led to a new coaching staff change. Having to adjust to new coaches and techniques was difficult at times, but made for a great last year. I started every game during my career at Louisville.
Alex Khvatov: What is the highlight of your career up to this point?
Mason King: Setting the school record at Louisville with a 43.9 avg yds per punt and being named team captain with a Heisman trophy winner Lamar Jackson.
Alex Khvatov: What is your biggest accomplishment in college that you are most proud of?
Mason King: Graduating in 3 years with my degree. Starting as a walk on to a scholarship punter and setting school record. Going from 2-10 season in 2018 to an 8-5 season with 2019 bowl win.
Alex Khvatov: What is the most important trait for a punter?
Mason King: Size, consistency and being able to handle pressure situations.
Alex Khvatov: What is your favorite NFL team?
Mason King: Houston Texans because my cousin Bobby is the LBs coach.
Alex Khvatov: Who is your favorite NFL player?
Mason King: Johnny Hekker.
Alex Khvatov: What players on your team should we keep an eye on for next
season?
Mason King: C.J. Avery, Micale Cunningham, and Javian Hawkins.
Alex Khvatov: Who is the best player that you have faced on an opposing team?
Mason King: Trevor Lawrence.
Alex Khvatov: What do you enjoy most about football?
Mason King: Competition and meeting new people throughout the years. Football has given me many great memories that will last forever.

Mason King: Fishing, hunting, golfing and cooking.

Mason King: I would like to pursue a career in Business.
