Recruited as a cornerback coming out of high school. Ryan O’Keefe was heavily utilized and schemed all throughout 2021. He’s become a staple of their offense, producing good numbers and becoming the favorite target of quarterback John Rhys Plumlee. He’s going to be limited to the slot at the next level where he can effectively attack any position on the field.

Ryan O’Keefe scouting notes
Pros:
- Good, not great, speed. Will be a step slow to be utilized the way he was at UCF.
- Has an excellent jump cut that works very well to get upfield.
- Accelerates well, above average in this regard but not great.
- Works back to the quarterback well in the scramble drill.
- Can easily work the sideline. Routinely shows the ability to keep two feet inbounds while making a big catch.
- Does a good job of focusing through a lot of traffic to make the catch. Not making crazy catches, but will throw his body into the catch point almost no matter where it is.
- Flashes some real ability to make catches through contact and in traffic.
- Offers some deep ball ability. Can stretch it in 1v1 situations using his speed.
- Very strong for his size, and will be above average with his ability to shed tacklers. Routinely sheds a tackle or two before going down.
Cons:
- Limited route tree in the Gus Malzahn offense.
- Does not display a great catch radius.
- Has his issues with consistently making catches but can be effective all across the field.
- Doesn’t have great field vision.
- Doesn’t offer a lot of creativity with his RAC ability.
