Cedric Tillman scouting notes

Pros:

  • Great speed, especially for his size.
  • Very explosive athlete. Can compete for contested catches by going up and over the defender.
  • He has excellent footwork through his routes. Really sells his fakes well.
  • Works the sideline extremely well, shows the ability to keep both feet inbounds while securing the catch.
  • Good, soft hands. Excellent catch radius. Locates the ball so well.
  • Excellent vertical/jump ball ability. Solid player. Wins in contested catch situations more often than not. So good at high pointing the ball and securing the catch.
  • Does a great job locating and securing the catch through contact.

Cons:

  • Would like to see Tillman secure the ball better through contested catch situations where the defender gets a swipe at the football.
  • He needs to be smoother and crisper through his breaks at the top of his routes.
  • Very similar to the DK Metcalf evaluation – can outrun defenses all day but will need to prove that he can run a full route tree.
