The most significant question mark with Dalton Wagner will be his ability to get low enough to maintain his leverage, which he struggles with already. He’s a right tackle prospect who would fit best in a heavy run/pass option style offense, using his size and strength to get downhill but misdirect without a lot of pulling or moving around. He’s an Arkansas team captain in 2022 and has a strong leadership personality. He was invited to the Hula Bowl in mid-October, and also is listed on the Shrine Bowl’s 1000 list.

Dalton Wagner scouting notes
Pros:
- Very solid upper body strength. Extremely well built.
- Shows good explosion from his lower half.
- Above average brute. He can just move people with his intensity and strength.
- Good snap timing. Sets his anchor with ease.
- Good consistent pass protector.
- Does an outstanding job of recognizing stunts and picking up late rushers while passing off defenders to teammates.
Cons:
- Lateral quickness at the next level might be a step slow.
- I don’t see a lot of recovery ability once Wagner has been beaten.
- Hand placement looks quite unrefined at times, but I think the issue is more of him taking time to figure out how low he has to get to work against specific defenders.
- His hand strength isn’t great. He struggles to contain blocks consistently, especially in pass protection.
- Gets lazy with his hands.
- There will be a bit of an adjustment going to most NFL teams. Arkansas ran a heavy RPO-style offense with elements of vertical spread.
