Habakkuk Baldonado played three football seasons in Rome, Italy, before moving to Clearwater, Florida, in 2017. In one season of high school football in America, Baldonado managed to gain significant attention and was recruited heavily during his senior year. His frame is very long and should measure very well. He’s had a good year in 2022 and I would imagine that Baldonado will hear his name called somewhere near the end of day two or the beginning of day three.

Habakkuk Baldonado scouting notes
Pros:
- Habakkuk Baldonado has very solid speed for his position.
- Very quick laterally.
- Good first step. Doesn’t stand out as anything special.
- Fairly explosive athlete. He shows a lot more explosion later in the rep than he starts with.
- He has great balance and keeps his body in a good position.
- Has just enough bend to work under the block with his swim move.
- Good hand usage. He has to be careful where he places them from time to time, but he shows a lot of promise using them. Works his hands extremely well when working off a block to make a play beside him.
- Excellent space defender.
- Very consistent motor.
Cons:
- Doesn’t have ideal upper body strength. He will have to add to his upper frame.
- Not a “brute” athlete by any stretch of the imagination.
- He seems to struggle with wrapping up the ball carrier in the gap and securing the tackle. Outside of that, in situations where he’s not fighting through a block, Baldonado shows strong tackling ability.
- Struggles in pursuit, especially from the backside. He is much too aggressive, trying to make up for his size.
- I just need to see him play with more discipline.
