Ikenna Enechukwu has picked up some steam over the last few months in NFL Draft communities, especially after making the 2023 Senior Bowl Watchlist. I’m not particularly impressed with his athletic ability nor his skillset, not really seeing a great fit for him somewhere in the league. He’s struggled to produce at Rice, a school that a top-tier player should dominate. He hasn’t done so yet. With that, I question his abilities and how he can use them at the next level.

Ikenna Ecechukwu scouting notes
Pros:
- Good lateral quickness.
- Good first step.
- Relatively explosive.
- Good upper body strength, not great.
- Shows some bend, nothing special but has a bit that he can use.
- Decent hand strength.
- Good tackler. Very rangy. Smart, instinctive, moves to the right space to stay in the play.
- He can play contain decently well off of his edge.
Cons:
- Average athlete. Will struggle to stay in position or chase down plays in the NFL.
- Doesn’t use his hands well at all. Has a desire to, just does not have any real understanding of how to attack blockers and create space.
- Doesn’t understand how to use his hands well. Doesn’t place them well on initial contact and doesn’t win repetitions.
- Not a great space defender.
- Is typically pumping so hard to get in position that he over pursues.
- Motor is 50/50.
