Jaelyn Duncan has been a 4-season starter at left tackle at Maryland. His tape has been inconsistent, however, and he’s struggled in bigger games. He will be grilled at interviews to see where his mental focus is. Regardless, he should put up monster numbers in testing and has the athleticism and strength to hold up at the NFL level.

Jaelyn Duncan scouting notes
Pros:
- Excellent speed for the position group. Very effective pulling blocker.
- Good lateral quickness. Very quick feet.
- Very strong upper body.
- Lower half is stout.
- Has a very decent anchor. Does a great job staying square.
- Very solid initial hand placement. Does a great job attacking downhill.
- Stout pass protector.
- Gets downhill very well. Difficult to fight against his power. Fairly effective working up into the second level of the play.
Cons:
- Doesn’t always show a lot of recoverability once he is on the ropes.
- He’s a bit susceptible to the inside counter, especially when he’s 1v1 on an island. Duncan tends to overset a bit which hurts him.
- Maryland ran both RPO and classic west coast schemes, playing both zone and gap assignments. His transition should be relatively seamless.
