Jalen Wayne is an intriguing RAC prospect who has a lot of raw, underdeveloped mechanics but the tools to get there potentially. It will be a tall task, but Wayne is a guy who consistently makes the first defender miss on a tackle opportunity. His 22 career drops (per PFF) are a bit of a concern, especially the 4 he dropped against Ole Dominion in his final regular season game. Wayne will have some questions to answer but is an intriguing developmental prospect regardless.

Jalen Wayne scouting notes
Pros:
- Decent speed, not great.
- Fairly explosive athlete.
- Does decently well on timing concepts.
- Does a good job creating proper catch angles.
- Decent RAC ability. Shows the ability to work decently well in space. Doesn’t have a large arsenal of moves but can usually make the first defender miss.
Cons:
- I don’t see a lot of change of direction ability. Can shift directions in small increments relatively well.
- Just doesn’t seem like he’s very polished as a route runner. Rounds his routes out.
- Ran a very limited route tree at South Alabama.
- Has a little bit of a history with drops (22 over his career), dropped 4 in South Alabama’s final game of the season against Old Dominion.
- Don’t see a lot of willingness to run block.
