TE/H-Back Jourdan Osinskie (Catawba College) - NFL Draft Blitz

TE/H-Back Jourdan Osinskie (Catawba College)

Jourdan Osinskie – Tight End/H-Back – Catawba College

Alex Khvatov:  What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?

Jourdan Osinskie:  6’3, 245lbs, 4.6.

Alex Khvatov:  Where will you be training for the NFL Draft?

Jourdan Osinskie:  I am trying to figure that out as we speak.

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your overall experience at the National Bowl all-star game in Daytona Beach, FL.

Jourdan Osinskie:  It was a great experience being around players I can relate to in a lot of areas.  The weather was typical Florida, but overall it was a very important and informative trip.  I learned some very needed answers from the meetings held with the agents.  The coaching staff was awesome, felt like I was around some very intelligent coaches.  The atmosphere was perfect for the goal at the game and that was to be exposed to more eyes.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the biggest thing that you will take away from that
weekend?

Jourdan Osinskie:  I would have to say it was an eye opener because coming from a small school, you don’t realize how many more small school players are out here doing the same thing as me with the same beliefs.  It’s reassuring and had pushed me even more to be better day-by-day.

Alex Khvatov:  Who was the best player that you have faced at the National
Bowl?

Jourdan Osinskie:  Safety from Mars Hill University, #26 Christopher Ferdinand in the game.  He was good at being physical.

Alex Khvatov:  Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in
you?

Jourdan Osinskie:  Gardner Webb, Appalachian State, Campbell U, SC State, Elon, North Carolina Central, Lenoir Rhyne, Carson Newman, Wingate, Brevard, Limestone and about five more that I can’t remember right now.

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you choose Catawba College?

Jourdan Osinskie:  Hometown connection with my head coach, he spent some years where I grew up.  I felt like he understood me a little better than the rest of the coaches.  I was happy with the distance from home and felt like I would make a big impact in the football program.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Jourdan Osinskie:  I can block anywhere on the field and be efficient.  Ability to run and catch the football at any speed or distance.  My will to stay on my feet after the catch and the ability to fight for extra yards.  I feel when in shape and healthy, I run my routes better at my position than most.  I feel I can out muscle defensive backs and I can outrun a linebacker in coverage.

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?

Jourdan Osinskie:  I would like to improve on my footwork in my blocking against d-linemen.  I depend on my athleticism to make blocks sometimes in spur of the moment.

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your overall career.

Jourdan Osinskie:  My career in college was a progression story.  Each year, I got better and better and really believed in my ability.  I don’t believe my stats define me by any means, but I did what had to be done with what I had.  By my standards, my career was not satisfactory for me.  It was good enough for the conference, and I believe I can double my stats if my talents are taken advantage of.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of your career up to this point?

Jourdan Osinskie:  The highlight of my career is being 2nd team all-region two years in a row.  Not where I know I should be, but I was satisfied under the seasons circumstances.

Alex Khvatov:  What have you learned the most from your coaching staff?

Jourdan Osinskie:  Must roll with the punches.  No time to sit down and delay.  The next play is in a few seconds.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your favorite NFL team?

Jourdan Osinskie:  Atlanta Falcons.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your favorite NFL player?

Jourdan Osinskie:  Todd Gurley.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the most important trait for a TE?

Jourdan Osinskie:  Be versatile, if you truly want to be a well-rounded effective tight end.  Blocking, catching, running, leading and being consistent.

Alex Khvatov:  Before the ball is snapped, what are the tendencies that
you are looking for from the defense?

Jourdan Osinskie:  Leverage and alignment from the D-end and linebacker if I’m lined up on the line.  If I’m split out in dubs, then I watch the safety’s eyes and the linebackers leverage and depth.

Alex Khvatov:  What players on your team should we keep an eye on for next
season?

Jourdan Osinskie:  Will Sweeper WR and Chris Paige CB.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is the toughest player that you have faced on an
opposing team?

Jourdan Osinskie:  The toughest would have to be linebacker from Wingate #10 Cardell Rawlings.  He is a tenacious player with a high motor and a hit behind it.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you enjoy most about football?

Jourdan Osinskie:  I enjoy the bond and trust between you and your teammates that create that mold to win. The adrenaline you have when everything on the team clicks is the best.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your biggest role model and why?

Jourdan Osinskie:  Never gave myself a role model growing up.  I tend to believe in myself and my abilities and instincts to make good decisions and find a way to success.  I do take a lot of positive tendencies from different people throughout my life though.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your definition of a leader?

Jourdan Osinskie:  Someone you can always count on to be doing the right thing. First one in, last one out type of person.  Man of his word.  Someone who leads by actions and words.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your hobbies?

Jourdan Osinskie:  I play Fortnite every now and then, but the weight room is my hobby.  I care about my body, so I make sure I do my hours in the weight room to stay healthy and get stronger.

Alex Khvatov:
What do you want to do with your life after your football
career is over?

Jourdan Osinskie:  I would love to run a business.  I can incorporate family and close friends, so I can spread the opportunity and dues to people that believed in me.

Alex Khvatov:  What five words best describe you?

Jourdan Osinskie:  Versatile, tough, instinctive, athletic and limitless.

Alex Khvatov:  Who will win Super Bowl LIII in February?

Jourdan Osinskie:  The Rams.  I will go with Todd Gurley!!!
