Jerome Smith: My sisters went to the University of Florida. Education is important to me and my family.
Ed Hunt: Describe your experience at the Tropical Bowl.
Jerome Smith: I got an opportunity to play against top competition.
Ed Hunt: What is the biggest thing you can take away from the Tropical Bowl?
Jerome Smith: Accountability.
Ed Hunt: Who is the best player you faced at the Tropical Bowl?
Jerome Smith: Kaian Duverger (he is a WR from UVA Wise).
Ed Hunt: What were some programs that showed interest in you?
Jerome Smith: NC State, Georgia Southern and Georgia State.
Ed Hunt: Why did you choose Georgia State?
Jerome Smith: My mom was big on Georgia State and Georgia Southern. The coach at Georgia Southern left, so that left me with Georgia State.
Ed Hunt: I noticed you blitzed a lot and were active in run support. Is this something you take pride in?
Jerome Smith: Yes, I take pride in blitzing and run support.
Ed Hunt: Why did you leave Georgia State in the middle of the season?
Jerome Smith: I got into an altercation with the coach and got kicked off the team.
Ed Hunt: Is there a role you have played on special teams thus far in your career?
Jerome Smith: Gunner. I am explosive and I take pride in that.
Ed Hunt: What is your favorite NFL team?
Jerome Smith: I used to be a Dallas Cowboys fan. Now I am more a fan of players than teams.
Ed Hunt: Who is your favorite NFL player?
Jerome Smith: Chris Harris and Tyrann Mathieu.
Ed Hunt: What is the most important trait for a DB?
Jerome Smith: Good eyes.
Ed Hunt: What players on your team should we keep an eye on for next season?
Jerome Smith: Dan Ellington, our quarterback. I think he was just getting his feet wet last year.
Ed Hunt: What do you enjoy most about football?
Jerome Smith: The competition.

Jerome Smith: My parents who put food on the table.

Jerome Smith: One who leads when no one is watching.

Jerome Smith: I would pick the Chiefs, but it’s hard to go against Brady and Belichick.
