Jerome Smith:  My sisters went to the University of Florida.  Education is important to me and my family.

Ed Hunt:  Describe your experience at the Tropical Bowl.

Jerome Smith:  I got an opportunity to play against top competition.

Ed Hunt:  What is the biggest thing you can take away from the Tropical Bowl?

Jerome Smith:  Accountability.

Ed Hunt:  Who is the best player you faced at the Tropical Bowl?

Jerome Smith:  Kaian Duverger (he is a WR from UVA Wise).

Ed Hunt:  What were some programs that showed interest in you?

Jerome Smith:  NC State, Georgia Southern and Georgia State.

Ed Hunt:  Why did you choose Georgia State?

Jerome Smith:  My mom was big on Georgia State and Georgia Southern.  The coach at Georgia Southern left, so that left me with Georgia State.

Ed Hunt:  I noticed you blitzed a lot and were active in run support.  Is this something you take pride in?

Jerome Smith:  Yes, I take pride in blitzing and run support.

Ed Hunt:  Why did you leave Georgia State in the middle of the season?

Jerome Smith:  I got into an altercation with the coach and got kicked off the team.

Ed Hunt:  Is there a role you have played on special teams thus far in your career?

Jerome Smith:  Gunner.  I am explosive and I take pride in that.

Ed Hunt:  What is your favorite NFL team?

Jerome Smith:  I used to be a Dallas Cowboys fan.  Now I am more a fan of players than teams.

Ed Hunt:  Who is your favorite NFL player?

Jerome Smith:  Chris Harris and Tyrann Mathieu.

Ed Hunt:  What is the most important trait for a DB?

Jerome Smith:  Good eyes.

Ed Hunt:  What players on your team should we keep an eye on for next season?

Jerome Smith:  Dan Ellington, our quarterback.  I think he was just getting his feet wet last year.

Ed Hunt:  What do you enjoy most about football?

Jerome Smith:  The competition.

Ed Hunt:  Who is your biggest role model and why?

Jerome Smith:  My parents who put food on the table.

Ed Hunt:  What is your definition of a leader?

Jerome Smith:  One who leads when no one is watching.

Ed Hunt:  What do you want to do after your football career?

Jerome Smith:  Coaching and helping the youth.

Ed Hunt:  What four words best describe you?

Jerome Smith:  Trustworthy, accountable, smart and high-energy.

Ed Hunt:  Who will win the Super Bowl this year?

Jerome Smith:  I would pick the Chiefs, but it’s hard to go against Brady and Belichick.
