Three-year starter

Outstanding speed

Displays good catching radius

Big time deep threat

He is a threat to score every time he touches the ball

Terrific athlete

Above average size, has the frame to get bigger

Can make defenders miss in the open field, dangerous after the catch

Displays good leaping ability

Can make acrobatic catches

Excels on streaks and bubble screens

 

Weaknesses

Inconsistent hands, too many drops

Average route runner, limited route tree

Body catcher

Struggles against press coverage

Weak blocker, unable to sustain his blocks

Needs to get stronger

Overview

Slayton decided to enter the NFL draft after his junior season.  His biggest asset is his terrific speed.  He will test well at the Scouting Combine.  However, he has questionable hands and is a very average route runner.  He will be selected a lot higher than he should based on his potential.
