WR Olabisi Johnson (Colorado State) Interview - NFL Draft Blitz

WR Olabisi Johnson (Colorado State) Interview

Olabisi Johnson
Wide Receiver
Colorado State

Ed Hunt:  How was it performing in the drills here at the Pro Day?

Olabisi Johnson:  I was comfortable.  This is my environment.  You know I’ve been here for four years.  This is easy.  Running routes, that’s my niche.

Ed Hunt:  How do you feel about your combine?

Olabisi Johnson:  Is it ever enough?  It’s never enough.  I feel really good about it and I was really impressed with what some of the people had to say.

Ed Hunt:  Has your agent given you an idea about which round you are going to go in?

Olabisi Johnson:  I don’t really talk to him much about that.  Some of the people say you’ll get drafted, but you never know.  What happens is what happens, and I can control what I can control.  I got to come out here and run routes like I do every day and see what these teams think about me.

Ed Hunt:  Is there anything you could take away from the combine?

Olabisi Johnson:  The whole experience, they try to beat you up mentally.  They are going to put you in uncomfortable situations.  You are going to sit in a room for an hour and a half or two hours before you run your 40.  Overcoming adversity is a huge part of football and that’s what I really took away from it.

Ed Hunt:  Do you have a favorite team or a team you hope to get drafted by?

Olabisi Johnson:  I don’t really have a favorite team right now…but there’s no doubt I would love to be drafted by the Patriots.  I’m not a bandwagon type of guy because they are Super Bowl Champions and everything.  But it just would be exciting because of the way they utilize their receivers.  I will block any day, but I will also run some shifty, good routes and see if Brady can give me the ball.

Ed Hunt:  Where do you think you will fit better, in the slot or on the outside?

Olabisi Johnson:  I think I’ll fit really good in the slot.  I think I can do all the things they want those 5’9 guys to do.  But I’m six feet.  I’m good in and out of my breaks.  I’m a savvy route runner.
