Javier Edwards
Defensive Tackle
Colorado
Ed Hunt: What is your best fit on the defensive line? More 3-4 or 4-3?
Javier Edwards: It don’t matter. I can do whatever they want me to do. If they tell me to go play kickoff, then I will do it.
Ed Hunt: What positions can you play on the defensive line?
Javier Edwards: Five to zero (technique).
Ed Hunt: What is your biggest takeaway from the NFLPA Bowl?
Javier Edwards: My biggest takeaway is maximizing your opportunity and the little things. You know I had Ed Reed as the coach there. He was always talking about the little things. Like, cleaning the locker room and making yourself a better person.
Ed Hunt: Who was the best player you faced at the NFLPA Bowl?
Javier Edwards: Deion Calhoun, the guard from Mississippi State.
Ed Hunt: Would you say you are a day three pick now?
Javier Edwards: I would say whatever they got me at, but wherever they put me is where they put me. I know I’m going to come off the board.
Ed Hunt: How many years did you start at CU?
Javier Edwards: Two.
Ed Hunt: What are your biggest strengths?
Javier Edwards: Powerful and quick.
Ed Hunt: What are you working on from here until the draft?
Javier Edwards: I came from JUCO. I never had the same defensive line coach. I had a new defensive line coach every year I played. I’m trying to improve more and more on being a pass rusher.
Ed Hunt: Do you feel like you’ve been able to learn technique well enough in your two years here (at the University of Colorado)?
Javier Edwards: Yeah. I’m getting a lot better. I’m watching film and getting a lot better.
Ed Hunt: Do you like watching film?
Javier Edwards: Yes sir.
