Displays a good burst off the line of scrimmage

A weapon in short-yardage situations, can line up in the backfield

Weaknesses

Needs to improve his route running, still raw in this area

Weak blocker

Wears his emotions on his sleeve, will lose his temper on the field

Will lose focus and have some drops

Needs to locate the ball better

Doesn’t know how to defeat press coverage

Overview

He was a starting RB for three years at Tennessee.  He decided to transfer to Baylor and switched to WR.  Hurd is still fairly raw, but he brings great physical tools to his new position.  He burned some bridges at Tennessee, but some NFL teams are going to be drawn to his potential.  He is a big slot WR with great movement skills and speed.  He should be selected on Day 3.
