Day 2 Practice Notes - National Team (2020 Tropical Bowl) - NFL Draft Blitz

Day 2 Practice Notes – National Team (2020 Tropical Bowl)

2020 Tropical Bowl

Saturday Practice – Day Two

National Team (Black)

RB Jimmie Robinson Jr. (Bethune-Cookman) – was a receiver in college, but has played RB at this all-star event.  He is undersized, but is explosive.  He shows an extra gear after the catch and can make defenders miss in the open field.  He has displayed outstanding, soft hands coming out of the backfield.  He is also a dangerous returner.

WR Amechie Walker Jr. (Iowa State) – the most consistent WR at the Tropical Bowl.  He continued his strong play during Saturday’s practice.  Slot WR ran smooth routes and created separation.  He was able to finish at the catch point on a couple of occasions.

LB Zach Hall (Southeast Missouri State) – is a playmaker who is always around the ball.  He was able to fill his gap and made a couple of tackles against the run in the scrimmage portion.  He also read a screen pass, stepped in front of it and came up with an INT.

LB Frankie Griffin (Texas State) – has great speed and quickness.  He is an undersized LB, but is instinctive.

DE/OLB Chris Favoroso (Duquesne) – spent one season at Montana before transferring to Duquesne.  He specializes at getting after the QB.  He was disruptive in the one on one’s.  He plays with good pad level and used a very effective bull rush.

CB Cedric Asseh (West Georgia) – transferred from Miami, Ohio for his final collegiate season to West Georgia.  He is 6’0 and has great speed.  He changes directions well.  He locked down the WR’s every time I looked in his direction.

OG Nick Leverett (Rice) – transferred from North Carolina Central.  He played OT at North Carolina Central.  But he settled at LG during his final season at Rice.  He displayed good anchor, and hand placement and sustained his blocks well.
