North Team - Day One Practice Report (2020 Senior Bowl) - NFL Draft Blitz

North Team – Day One Practice Report (2020 Senior Bowl)

2020 Senior Bowl

Day One Report (Tuesday Practice)

North Team

DL Jason Strowbridge (North Carolina)

He was the star for the North team during Tuesday’s practice.  No one could block him in the one on one’s.  He displayed a variety of pass rush moves including a speed rush, a bull rush and a nice spin move.  He showed heavy hands and a lethal initial hand punch.  He is quick off the ball, nonstop motor and has good size (weighed in at 6’4 ¼ and 267 pounds).  He is a versatile DL who has played a number of positions on the DL at UNC.

Quarterbacks

Jordan Love (Utah State)

He had the most consistent afternoon out of the three QB’s here for the North team.  He has good size (checked in at 6’3 5/8, 223 pounds and 10 5/8 hands) and a quick release.  He displayed good pocket awareness (stepped up and avoided pressure), showed off his arm strength and threw with nice touch.  He fit the ball into a tight window on one particular throw.  However, he missed an easy, short throw on the run and misfired on the deep ball.

Anthony Gordon (Washington State)

He had an up and down day.  He displayed a good arm and he got rid of the ball quickly.  He threw well on the run.  But his field vision is below average and he forced a couple of throws into coverage.

Shea Patterson (Michigan)

He made bad decisions and forced a number of throws into coverage.  His accuracy was below average.

WR K.J. Hill (Ohio State)

Ohio State receivers have shown up big in these all-star games the past couple of years.  Hill put on a clinic in the one on one’s.  He ran precise routes and was incredibly quick coming out of his breaks.  He tracked the ball well over his shoulder on a downfield throw.

WR Antonio Gandy-Golden (Liberty)

He is a big WR who caught the ball consistently away from his frame.  He showed the ability to finish at the catch point and located the ball well on a deep ball.  I loved his effort in the blocking drill.  However, he has to show that he can get off press coverage.

RB Joshua Kelley (UCLA)

He showed quickness and a good burst through the hole.  He also did well catching the ball today.

OT Matt Peart (UConn)

Peart displayed quick feet, good hand placement and the ability to sustain his blocks.  He played RT his senior year, but has played OG early in his career.

C Matt Hennessy (Temple)

He is a tough, nasty OL with good size.  He is technically sound.  He is a good athlete who shows good balance and is a very good knee bender.  He put together a solid practice, but he needs to improve his strength because he can get pushed back.

DT Neville Gallimore (Oklahoma)

Ed Hunt noticed Gallimore displaying heavy hands and a great initial hand punch.  He also showed a nonstop motor.
