2023 NFL Draft Scouting Notes: OT Anton Harrison, Oklahoma

There is no doubt that Anton Harrison is very athletic and can hold up at the left tackle position professionally, but Harrison has some technique points that he still needs to clean up. I don’t doubt that Harrison can’t be a great pro, and my projection has him going high, but if he’s not in the right situation when he’s drafted or pressed into service immediately, things could go very badly for his career.

Anton Harrison scouting notes

Pros:

  • Very decent athlete. Moves very well.
  • Shows excellent lateral quickness.
  • Decent upper body strength.
  • Has a solid lower half that he relies on well to hold up in his assignments.
  • Shows solid bend. Excellent anchor.
  • Very strong hands. Was absolutely dominant against lesser prospects.

Cons:

  • Hand placement isn’t great at times.
  • Can get caught setting too early and doesn’t react well enough to recover.
  • Decent run blocker, not great.
  • Spent a year in Lincoln Riley’s spread system as a full time starter and a year in the more primitive RPO system with cheap college tricks.
