A double transfer from Ohio State through Akron, Boogie Knight has tools that are valuable in the ever evolving landscape of the NFL roster. Knight is built like a running back and has solid contact balance as a receiver after the catch. His route-running ability is crisp and consistent, while his run after catch ability does make him dangerous from the slot. With his size, it’s hard to see him impacting more than out of the slot, but his versatility could put him in the backfield as a running back as well.

I’m not really thinking that there is too much upside with Boogie Knight. You aren’t going to get him to run faster and you know you’re getting a guy with a crazy work ethic. He might be able to learn how to catch through contact better, but his skillset is pretty much cemented at this point.
Very clean medical history.
Boogie Knight’s scouting report

- Speed (4/7) – Good, not great, speed. Tested decently well with his quickness. Doesn’t have that extra gear to outrun defenders in the open field.

- Body Control (3/4) – Shows really solid body control.
Explosiveness/Burst: 10

- Explosion (3/5) – Fairly explosive, not great.
Receiver Technique (25)
Route Running: 15
- Footwork (5/7) – Decent route runner. Gets through most of his breaks quickly and cleanly. Has shown some improvement in his route running from 2021 to 2022. Smooth feet through breaks, doesn’t run curls or hitches as effectively.
- Route Tree (4/5) – Ran a lot of different routes from a bunch of different positions. Mismatch weapon. Can be moved around the scheme.
- Nuances (2/3) – Shows solid nuances both as a route runner and can abandon the route at the proper time and get into the scramble drill.
Release/Flexibility: 10
- Release Ability (3.5/5) – Shows some flexible release ability. Faced press a decent amount of his career.
- Sideline Work (3.5/5) – Shows some solid sideline ability. Can keep two feet inbounds while making tough catches along the boundary.
Catching Ability (20)
Catch Ability: 15
- Natural Catch Ability (7/10) – Good hands, not great. Doesn’t have strong hands, but shows a good catch radius. Has been working out without gloves to try and help develop stronger hands.
- Consistency (3/5) – Registered 12 career drops (10%). Consistency could be better, but it’s not bad.
Contested Catch Ability: 5
- Catch Through Contact (2.5/5) – Does not catch through contact well. Struggles to secure the ball quickly enough. Has got to be more consistent through contact.
Schematics (25)
Deep Threat/Red Zone: 5
- Deep Threat Rating (0.5/2) – Does not offer any real deep threat ability. Won’t stretch the field well. Doesn’t have the speed to win deep.
- Red Zone Rating (1.5/3) – Limited red zone ability, will be strictly a route runner.
Run After Catch: 15
- Field Vision (3.5/5) – Field vision is typically pretty good.
- Creativity (3.5/5) – Shows good creativity. Has an arsenal of moves that he uses well to make the first defender miss.
- Strength (4/5) – Excellent contact balance. Difficult to bring down.
Run Blocking: 5
- Strength (1/2) – Not a great run blocker, but capable when he needs to be.
- Consistency (1.5/3) – Average at best. Won’t be a guy that you really want to rely on.
