Alex Khvatov: Describe your overall experience at the FCS Bowl all-star game in Daytona Beach, FL.
Chase DeMoor: It was a blessing to be a part of. Balling out with great athletes from all across the country, providing tips and feedback, helping each other get better and continue learning.
Alex Khvatov: What is the biggest thing that you will take away from that
weekend?
Chase DeMoor: Opportunity is hard to come by and is limited, so take advantage of every snap of the ball like it’s your last ever.
Alex Khvatov: Who was the best player that you went up against at the FCS
Bowl?
Chase DeMoor: Vincent Espinoza. He’s the best QB I’ve ever had to play against. The dude is a stud.
Alex Khvatov: How honored are you to get an invitation to the 2019 Tropical Bowl all-star game in January?
Chase DeMoor: Beyond honored, coming from a small school and making a name for myself in order to get that invite is huge.
Alex Khvatov: Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?
Chase DeMoor: Washington State was one of the first schools showing recruitment, however I ended up at a juco in California. I worked hard every day to get that next offer. I had interest from the University of Colorado, Nevada Reno, Albany and Alabama A&M before committing to Central Washington.
Alex Khvatov: How did you wind up at a junior college?
Chase DeMoor: I went to a small school in the middle of nowhere, not many kids play after high school, so recruiters were few and none. Coach Roach down at the Siskiyous offered me a great opportunity for some serious exposure to get me to that next level.
Alex Khvatov: Why did you transfer to Central Washington?
Chase DeMoor: Central Washington an up and coming program. I knew that I wanted to win a ring, and Central seemed to have all the pieces in place. I was fortunate enough to come out and help them win back-to-back rings with a shot at the playoffs both years. My family is also from this area, so playing for the home team was a big deal.
Alex Khvatov: What are your strengths?
Chase DeMoor: My get off and first two steps along with my length and strength make me a versatile player.
Alex Khvatov: What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?
Chase DeMoor: Being tall, I’m always working on my leverage and redirect.
Alex Khvatov: Describe your overall career to us.
Chase DeMoor: I wasn’t a huge stats guy because of the scheme. However, I did whatever sacrifices it took to help my team win games. Quickly forgot the me and learned the us concept. I plugged holes and rushed passers along with loving to play special teams. Made a lot of plays, broke a record and won player of the year and a few rings along the way.
Alex Khvatov: What is your biggest accomplishment that you are most proud
of?
Chase DeMoor: Breaking the record for single season blocked kicks and winning player of the year.
Alex Khvatov: What is the highlight of your career up to this point?
Chase DeMoor: Going 11-0 with a playoff bye to win a national championship.
Alex Khvatov: What have you learned the most from your coaching staff?
Chase DeMoor: The us concept and to finish.
Alex Khvatov: What is your favorite NFL team?
Chase DeMoor: Seattle because it’s a home team, but I like players on all teams.
Alex Khvatov: Who is your favorite NFL player?
Chase DeMoor: I don’t have a single guy, but I like guys like Frank Clark and Cameron Wake.
Alex Khvatov: What is the most important trait for a DL?
Chase DeMoor: Relentlessness and being physical.
Alex Khvatov: Before the ball is snapped, what are the tendencies that you are looking for from the offense?
Chase DeMoor: What the backfield looks like to see the options they have. Then check the OL stance and eyes to see what he wants to do. I also check the receiver’s formations.
Alex Khvatov: What players on your team should we keep an eye on for next
season?
Chase DeMoor: From Central Washington, keep an eye on corner Tyren Sams, receivers Tony Archie and Quinton Lewis.
Alex Khvatov: Who is the best player that you have faced on an opposing team?
Chase DeMoor: Vincent Espinoza at QB out of Lincoln. The kid is a stud.
Alex Khvatov: What do you enjoy most about football?
Chase DeMoor: The brotherhood.
Alex Khvatov: Who is your biggest role model and why?
Chase DeMoor: My grandfather. I strive to be half the man he was.
Alex Khvatov: What is your definition of a leader?
Chase DeMoor: Lead by example, not noise.

Chase DeMoor: I snowboard, dance and play Xbox.

career is over?
Chase DeMoor: I want to be a police officer.
